Pigeon Island believes that it has the capacity to become a financially viable business, but if they had to pay rent at this stage, it would just squash the projects ability to experiment. If Renew Adelaide and the Tuxedo Cat hadn’t given them the opportunity to trial the project, they wouldn’t have been able to take the risks necessary to make the project successful.
